Women's Golf Nabs Runner-Up Finish at Bryan Park

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. – Four top ten finishes for the Vikings led the Berry College women’s golf team (622 – 313, 309) to a second place finish at the Callaway Golf Spring Invite on Tuesday. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Rachel Belanger shot a 152 (75, 77) two-day total to lead the Vikings with a fourth place finish.
  • Sydney Weaver dropped two strokes off of her round one score to finish at 156 (79, 77), ninth overall.
  • Both Jorie Hodapp (79, 78) and Karley Hammond (80, 77) shot a 157 to finish tied for tenth overall.
  • Erin Bruner (163 – 80, 83) rounded out scoring for Berry, finishing tied for 20th.

NOTABLES:

  • Methodist University finished at 608 (308, 300), taking home the team title.
  • Methodists’ Johnna Beehner shot a round two 71 to finish at the top of the individual leaderboard with a 143 (72, 71).
  • The only other SAA member, Oglethorpe University, finished four with a 641 (310, 331) team total.

UP NEXT:

The Vikings will travel to Maumelle, Ark., to begin play at the SAA Conference Championships on Monday, April 3.
