Tennis Falls to Powerhouse Sewanee on Saturday

ROME, Ga. - Both the Berry College men’s and women’s tennis teams fell to the Tigers of Sewanee on Saturday morning. The women’s team were defeated 9-0, and the men’s team lost 8-1 on the day.

Ryan Miner earned the sole Vikings victory in the matchup, defeating Ryan Olps 5-7, 6-4, 7-0 in the No. 3 Singles spot for Berry. Chase Gooding (3-6, 4-6) kept the contest close, falling to Andres Carros in the No. 2 Singles spot for the Vikings.

Kathryn Barker led Berry on the women’s side, falling to Catherine Owens in the No. 2 Singles spot by a narrow 6-2, 7-6 margin.

With the loss, the men’s team falls to 7-8 overall, as well as 2-4 in conference play. The women’s team drops to 9-6 and 2-4.
