Men's and Women's Tennis Split with Centre

DANVILLE, Ky. - The men's and women's tennis teams split against Centre College on Saturday. The men's tennis team defeated the Colonels 8-1, while the women's team fell 1-8.

• All three Berry doubles teams earned a win on Saturday: Matt Blakely and Griffin Davis (9-8), Ryan Miner and Chase Gooding (8-5) and Jordan Crance and Daniel Alligood (9-7).
• Davis (6-2, 6-3) added a victory in the No. 2-Singles spot, and Miner (6-2, 6-1) earned a win in the No. 3-Singles spot as well. 
• Gooding (7-6, 7-5) and Crance (6-4, 6-1) finished the day with wins for the Vikings in the No. 5 and No. 6-Singles spots, respectively, as well.
• Alligood (6-2, 7-5) rounded out scoring with a victory in the No. 7-Singles spot.

• Lauren Byrket earned the sole Berry win on Saturday. 
• Byrket defeated Willliams 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 2-Singles spot for the Vikings.

• The men's tennis team has won three straight matches, improving to 8-3 overall and 1-1 in the SAA on the season.
• The women's team falls to 6-5 and 0-2.

Both teams will travel to Sewanee, Tenn., to take on Sewanee in their next matches tomorrow at 10:00am.
