Men's Soccer Suffers First Loss Against ETBU

ROME, Ga. — The Berry College men's soccer team dropped their first game of the season against East Texas Baptist University this afternoon with a 1-0 final score.

Berry is now 3-1 on the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • ETBU controlled possession for the majority of the first half, scoring the lone goal of the game in the 35th minute. Silas Sangano found the back of the net off a through ball from Samual Arellano.
  • Berry had a few opportunities late in the first half, including a blocked shot from Austin Casbarro, but ETBU held a 1-0 advantage at the half. 
  • The Vikings shifted momentum in the second half, out-shooting ETBU 10-4. The team had opportunities, but was unable to score against the Tigers' defense. 
  • The teams combined for 23 fouls in the game.
