Men's Soccer Fights to 1-1 Draw at Birmingham-Southern

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Berry College men's soccer team remained undefeated in conference play after a 1-1 draw at Birmingham-Southern on Friday night. 

Berry now sits at 7-1-2 on the year and is 1-0-2 in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA).

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Panthers jumped out to a quick lead in the 14th minute off a header from Luke Hambleton. 
  • Berry recorded 11 shots in the opening period, but was unable to find the back of the net. 
  • Jake Williamson scored the equalizer in the 58th minute off an assist from Steven Moore. 
  • Despite out-shooting BSC 31-12 for the match, Galen Curry's strong play in goal for the Panthers secured the 1-1 draw. Curry recorded 11 saves.
