Men's Lacrosse Finish Season with 18-17 Overtime Loss to Sewanee

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Bailey Martin tallied five times and passed two assists, but an overtime goal by Sewanee's Pat DiMento ended the Berry College men's lacrosse season with an 18-17 loss to the Tigers in the SAA semifinals on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Both teams scored early and often in the contest, with the Vikings ahead 11-9 at halftime.
  • Berry then outscored the Tigers 4-2 in the third quarter, but a six goal fourth quarter for Sewanee ended regulation play with both teams tied 17-17.
  • DiMento then scored the lone overtime goal just under three and a half minutes into the overtime period, ensuring Sewanee's 18-17 victory.
  • Sewanee led the game in shots (52-41) and face offs (21-17), while Berry led in ground balls (48-44) and clears (15-13).
  • The Tigers also forced 27 Viking turnovers to their 22.
