Men's Lacrosse Defeats Piedmont, 12-3

ROME, Ga. – Koda-Wataka Robinson scored a hat trick as the Berry College men's lacrosse team upended Piedmont College, 12-3, on Wednesday afternoon.

The win improved the Vikings to 2-2 overall. The loss dropped the visiting Lions to 1-4.

Robinson's three goals led the BC offense. Bailey Martin and Christian Akers each tabbed two goals in the win as well.

Five other Vikes added a goal to round out the Berry scoring: Quentin Johnson, Jason Wilhelm, Hudson Harris, Stephen Galloway and Andrew Elgin.

Martin and Johnson each passed two assists on the afternoon as well.

The Vikings were ahead 6-3 at halftime. Berry allowed no second half goals to finish out the game.

Taylor Carter, Britt Kennedy and Devon Phillips scored the only goals in the game for the Lions.

Berry led the game in shots (55-13), ground balls (28-23) and faceoffs (12-7). The Vikings also forced 11 Lion turnovers and nine miscues.

Zack McConnell earned the win in goal for BC, collecting five saves and allowing three goals in his 45:00 minutes of work. 

The Vikings return to action on Sunday, Feb. 28 against Denison College. Game time is set for 1 p.m. in Granville, Ohio.
