Big fourth quarter leads men's lacrosse over Hendrix

ROME, Ga. -- Berry College shut out visiting Hendrix in the fourth quarter en route to a 9-4 win on Sunday.

The Vikings improved to 7-4 and 2-1 in the Southern Athletic Association. The Warriors dropped to 6-4 and 1-2 in the SAA. 

Cory Hall had 3 goals and an assist to lead the BC offense. Goalkeeper Nick Voso recorded 9 saves and improved to 4-3 on the year.

Berry led 4-3 at halftime and 6-4 after 3 quarters. The home team, however, outscored HC 3-0 in the final 15 minutes to pull away. 

Quentin Johnson dished 3 assists for the Vikings. Jake Emche added 2 goals for Berry. Patrick Towner forced 3 Hendrix turnovers.

Travis Rabun tallied twice to lead Hendrix. Christian Wheeler had 10 saves in the cage for the Warriors.

The Vikings led in shots (38-24) and ground balls (25-18). Berry completed 26-of-28 clears and held Hendrix to 18-of-26 clearing. The Warriors had the edge in faceoffs, 11-6.

The Vikings host Sewanee on Saturday. Prior to the 4 p.m. start, Berry College will recognize the 10 men's lacrosse seniors.
