Berry wins at Rhodes, 12-3

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Maxwell Smerka scored five goals as Berry College cruised to a 12-3 win at Rhodes on Saturday afternoon.

The Vikings improved to 7-2 and 2-1 in the Southern Athletic Association. The Lynx dropped to 6-6 and 0-2.

BC dominated play early. The Vikings led 4-0 after the first quarter, and 8-0 at halftime. For the game, the Vikes led in shots (36-23), ground balls (27-22) and faceoffs (10-9).

Jordan Boreman (7-2) had another strong game in the cage for BC. He had 13 saves and allowed three goals in 60 minutes of action.

A total of 10 players had points for the visitors. Corey Hall notched two goals and one assist and Nat Morey scored and assisted once for Berry.

Kevin Veira tallied two of RC's three goals.

Berry College plays at Hendrix in Conway, Ark. on Sunday.
