Men's lacrosse wins at Transylvania, 13-4

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Cory Hall and Bryan Byers scored five goals apiece as Berry College won at Transylvania, 13-4, on Sunday afternoon. The Vikings improved to 5-1 and the Pioneers fell to 1-5.

Hall added two assists for BC, and Kyle Lombardi scored and assisted once.

The Vikes got off to a strong start--and finish--to the contest. Berry scored the first four goals of the game and held a 5-3 lead at halftime.

Transy's Clark Watts (three goals) opened the third period with a goal to cut the margin to 5-4. The Vikings, however, then recorded the game's final eight goals.

The Vikings led in ground balls (28-27), but trailed in shots (29-28). Jordan Boreman (5-1) had six saves for the visitors.

Berry plays at Oglethorpe University on Wednesday night. The game is the Southern Athletic Association opener for both teams.
