Men's lacrosse handles Greensboro, 12-5

ROME, Ga. -- Cory Hall and Max Smerka led the Vikings with three goals each as Berry College defeated Greensboro College, 12-5, on Wednesday. Hall also tallied an assist for the game.

Nat Morey and Miller Hollstein scored two goals apiece and Hollstein assisted another goal for good measure.

The Vikings improved to 4-1 and dropped Greensboro to 1-5 with the loss.

Berry dominated early and led 6-0 at halftime. After a goal by Smerka, BC held a 7-0 lead with 14:06 left in the third quarter.

Berry managed 39 shots to Greensboro's 35.

"A win is a win, but we need the guys to play hard for the full sixty minutes," said Berry Head Coach Curtis Gilbert said. "But again, we're glad to earn the win."

Viking's goalkeeper Jordan Boreman made 14 saves and let in four goals and took the win. Greensboro goalkeeper Jesse Duczeminsky let in 11 goals and saved nine shots during his loss.

Berry plays at Transylvania on Sunday.
