ROME, Ga. -- Cory Hall scored six goals and passed for one assist as Berry College defeated Piedmont, 12-6, on Wednesday. Hall's six goals tied a BC single-game record.
The Vikings improved to 2-0 and handed the Lions (3-1) their first defeat of the year.
Berry fired 61 shots to PC's 17. The Vikings led in faceoffs (13-7) and ground balls (38-25). The home team led 5-3 at halftime.
For the second straight game Berry had a dominating third period. BC outscored the visitors, 6-0, in the third stanza.
"We had a good third quarter," said Berry Head Coach Curtis Gilbert. "We started burying some shots and put it away a bit. We had some adversity in the fourth quarter, but the guys pulled together and came through."
Jordan Boreman had six saves and improved to 2-0 on the year. Piedmont's Mick Baker recorded 22 saves.
The Vikings begin their three-game Spring Break road trip at Virginia Wesley on Saturday.
