Baseball Completes Series Sweep Over Hendrix 16-6 on Saturday

ROME, Ga. — The Berry College baseball team completed the series sweep over Hendrix College on Saturday afternoon, earning a 16-6 run-rule victory to improve to 17-7 overall and 8-4 in Southern Athletic Association (SAA) play. 

The Vikings jumped ahead quickly in the first after a Casey Whitaker home run and a two RBI single from Devin Post. Hendrix was able to get four back in the top of the second, but Berry would plate two more in the fourth off the bats of Jacob Delk and Quinn Smith. An error in the fifth plated another run for Hendrix, but eight Vikings would cross the plate in the sixth to go ahead 14-5. Delk hit another RBI single in the eighth to secure the run-rule victory. 

J.T. Eggert (3-0) earned the win, going 5.0 innings with six strikeouts. Evan Orren took the loss for the Warriors, going 3.2 innings allowing seven runs.
