MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – Women's soccer junior Gianna Maimone has been named SAA Offensive Athlete of the Week for the first time in her Berry career, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
 
Maimone received the honor after an incredible three-game stretch against Covenant, Agnes Scott, Johnson & Wales this past week, helping the Vikings win all three games and improve to 4-0 to start the 2026 season.
 
She started by scoring a goal in each of the first two games against Covenant and Agnes Scott, but she saved her best for Saturday against the Wildcats. In that game, Maimone finished with a program-record four assists in a 9-0 victory, breaking the previous record of three assists set by Megan Radosta in 2016 against Oglethorpe.
 
Maimone's final stat line across those three wins were two goals, four assists, six shots on goal, and eight total points.
 
The Vikings return to action on Wednesday at Bob Pearson Field against the No. 2 Emory University Eagles. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
