Vikings Drop Senior Day Matchup to Rhodes

| By:
MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - After yesterday's terrific win against Millsaps, the women were back on court at the Rome Tennis Center to play Rhodes, and to also celebrate senior day. Thank you to seniors and captains Saris Mejia and Maggie Cox for leading the team, and we look forward to their graduation from Berry College in a few months.

Doubles began strong as all three teams held serve, but Rhodes pulled away at first and third doubles with consistent serving, and by taking advantage of the neutral balls with effective poaching. However, Maggie Cox / Paige Evans at second doubles remained solid with their plays, as they produced some of the strongest serves of their doubles career to pull away 6-3 in their match.

Following some close doubles matches, Maggie Cox at second singles maintained her performance with strong service games, bringing the fight to her opponent and capitalizing on every neutral ball in dominant fashion during the first set. Paige Evans also produced some of her best tennis this season by sticking to her plan of dominating from the baseline with strong groundstrokes. Berry finished the day 1-6 in match count with Paige Evans at fourth singles winning her match, and we look forward to next week where Berry will play Southwestern and Trinity in Texas.
