MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Berry Volleyball is looking to secure a third straight SAA Conference Championship as they head to Danville, Kentucky, to begin their pursuit against the Sewanee Tigers on November 15 at 6 PM ET.
The 2-seeded Vikings won both of their matchups against the 7-seeded Sewanee Tigers in impressive fashion, winning 3-0 at home and 3-1 at Sewanee.
The Vikings come into the opening round of the tournament having lost two of their last three contests, but the Vikings are confident that the strength of their non-conference schedule this year has them battle-tested for what awaits them in the SAA Tournament.
Berry will rely on a healthy balance of veteran experience and young talent to carry the load for both their attack and defense. Offensively, the Vikings look to All-American senior Bella Boston to make timely kills, as she leads the team with 266 on the year. Sophomore Keira Kruk has also made a huge impact this year, delivering 208 kills for a deadly Berry attack.
Junior Lura Underwood has proved to be a dominant X-factor for the Vikings, with 199 kills and 275 digs. Senior Lindsey Macdiarmid has been the go-to setter for the Vikings, accumulating an astounding 724 assists on the season.
Defensively, the Vikings count on the stellar play of their liberos, All-American senior Kate Whittle and sophomore Andrea Hurt, to command their back line. Whittle leads the team with 282 digs while Hurt patrols the backline with 247 and leads the team in service aces with 42.
