SAA Releases Spring Championship Brackets

ATLANTA — After competition on Sunday, the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has officially released the tournament brackets for men's and women's tennis, baseball, softball, and men's and women's lacrosse. 

Many of the game times will be set in the coming days. Continue to check the Berry Athletics website and Twitter account for continued updates. 

BASEBALL:  (CLICK HERE FOR BRACKET)

Berry will serve as one of the hosts for the opening weekend of the SAA baseball tournament, facing Hendrix on Thursday, April 19th. The Vikings secured the program's first SAA Regular Season title and the No. 1 seed in the tournament after finishing with a 15-4 record in SAA play. Berry rides a 10-game winning streak into the tournament against SAA opponents, finishing the regular season with a 25-11 record.

SOFTBALL: (CLICK HERE FOR BRACKET)

The Berry College softball team secured its sixth consecutive SAA Regular Season crown and will once again serve as the No. 1 seed in the SAA tournament. Berry secured the first-round bye and will open competition in Chattanooga, Tenn. on Friday against the winner of No. 4 Centre and No. 5 Rhodes. Berry currently sits as the No. 7 team in the NFCA Coaches Poll, boasting a 33-4 overall record with a 16-1 mark in league play. Berry will look for its fourth straight tournament title and NCAA Tournament appearance.

MEN'S LACROSSE: (CLICK HERE FOR BRACKET)

Defeating Sewanee last weekend locked up the No. 2 seed for the Berry men's lacrosse team. With that, the Vikings earn a first-round bye and will host the winner of No. 3 Sewanee and No. 6 Hendrix in the semifinal game on Sunday, April 22. The Vikings ride a six game winning streak into the tournament, boasting a 12-3 overall record.

Berry enters the tournament as the No. 6 seed and is set to travel to No. 3 Sewanee in the quarterfinals on Friday at 5:00 p.m. The Vikings will look to regain some of their early-season magic, as the team started the year 4-1. 

MEN'S TENNIS: (CLICK HERE FOR BRACKET)

The Berry men's tennis team earned the No. 6 seed in the SAA tournament and will face No. 3 Birmingham-Southern to open play on Friday. This year's tournament is being held at Old Fort Park in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Berry is currently 7-8 overall and was 2-4 against SAA opponents this year, dropping a close 5-4 contest to BSC on Apr. 8.

The women's tennis team pulled the No. 5 seed and will face No. 4 Oglethorpe to open quarterfinal play on Friday, also held at Old Fort Park in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The Vikings are 9-6 overall with a 2-4 mark in SAA play.
